What is a personal match on xplay.gg

A personal match is a private CS2 game on a dedicated xplay.gg server that you set up yourself: who plays, on which map, with which rules and in which region. It is free and does not change your Premier or Competitive rank.

You create a lobby on the site, invite friends with a link and press Start match. The server is found in seconds in the chosen region, and the Connect button launches CS2 and joins it.

How to start a personal match

Create a lobby
Pick a format or keep 5v5. The region with your lowest ping is chosen for you.
Invite friends and start
Share the link, press Start match and confirm you are ready. Connect launches CS2 and joins the server.

FAQ

Are personal matches on xplay.gg free?

Yes. Lobbies, servers, every setting, Workshop maps, mods, demos and stats are free. You only need a Steam account and CS2.

Does a personal match affect my CS2 rank?

No. Personal matches run on xplay.gg servers and do not change your Premier or Competitive rank.

How many players can play in one lobby?

Up to 63, split into two teams of any size: 1v1, 2v2, 5v5 or 1v10. Wingman takes up to 4 players and Retake up to 16.

Can I play Steam Workshop maps?

Yes. Add any Workshop map by link or ID, or search a catalog of 2,000+ maps. Maps that cannot run on a dedicated server are filtered out automatically.

Can I play with bots?

Yes. Bots of four difficulties, from Easy to Cheaters, fill the empty slots. Each team needs at least one player, and bots are off in Aim, Retake and Major Showmatch.

Where are the servers?

In 40+ regions across Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and Oceania. The lobby picks the region with your lowest ping, and you can change it.

How do I invite friends?

Send the lobby link or invite friends and recent teammates from the lobby. For a closed game, make the lobby password protected or invite only.

Can I play a Bo3 or a tournament?

Yes. Choose Bo1, Bo3 or Bo5, let captains ban and pick maps in a classic or tournament veto and draft their teammates. The whole series stays on one server.

Do I need to install anything?

No. You only need CS2 from Steam. The Connect button launches the game and joins the server, or you can copy the IP.

Will I get the demo and stats of the match?

Competitive and Wingman matches keep a demo for 30 days, stats and a 2D replay by SCOPE.GG. Aim, Retake, Random rounds and matches with mods or fun settings do not record demos.

What about cheaters?

Players with confirmed anti-cheat or admin bans on xplay.gg cannot create or join personal matches. The lobby leader can also kick and ban any player.
