CS2 Jetpack on xplay.gg: Flight Controls and Fuel Settings
Jetpack lets you rise above boxes and take fights from the air in a private CS2 match. The host decides who can fly and how much freedom they get, from short boosts followed by a landing to longer flights with fuel recovery in mid-air.
The mode is free in Personal Matches and runs on the xplay.gg server. Each player needs CS2 and a Steam account, with no separate mod to install. The flight rules apply to your private session.
How to Fly with Jetpack in CS2
Jump, then hold your jump key while airborne to climb. Steer with WASD and release jump to stop the engine. An orange steam trail appears while the engine runs, showing when a player is boosting.

Before leaving cover, pick a place to land. Rising above a box can let you see an opponent on the other side, but it also lifts you into view of players watching that space. Check the position you want to peek and the way back to cover.
Read the fuel value as powered-flight time. A tank can be spent in one climb or split across several boosts. Time in the air also includes movement with the engine off, so tank capacity alone does not tell you when a player must land.
Adjust Jetpack Flight and Fuel Settings
Open Mods > Jetpack in your lobby. Adjust the climb first, then choose how players recover spent fuel.
Set Thrust and Climb Speed
Thrust controls the upward push. The mod describes 0.6 as a calm climb, 1 as a hover and 2 as a rocket-like rise.
Climb speed cap limits rising speed. Strong thrust can reach a low cap quickly, so choose the two settings together. Lower thrust if the rise feels too abrupt, or raise the cap to allow faster upward travel. This cap applies to climbing, not horizontal movement.
Choose Fuel and Refuelling Rules
Choose a smaller finite tank for short boosts or a larger one for longer climbs. The Refuel only on the ground toggle determines where spent fuel can return:
For airborne recovery, release jump between boosts so the engine idles. Keep an eye on the space below while the tank recovers, since you are still moving through the air.
Refuel measures seconds of fuel restored per real second. With ground-only refuelling enabled, a rate of 1 fills an empty four-second tank after four seconds on the ground. Raise the rate for shorter recovery breaks or lower it when you want players to wait longer between full-tank boosts.
Set Fall Damage and the Fuel Display
No fall damage is enabled by default. Leave it on while friends learn to land, or turn it off to make high drops dangerous. This choice applies independently of the fuel rules.
Keep Show fuel enabled while learning. Its bar appears during flight and refuelling, so players can check their remaining engine time before committing to another boost.
Suggested first setup: try 0.6 thrust, a 500 units/s cap, four seconds of fuel and a refill rate of 1. Enable ground-only refuelling, No fall damage and Show fuel for a session built around short flights. After a few rounds, change one control at a time so your group can judge its effect.
Choose Who Gets a Jetpack
Choose who can fly under Applies to. Players outside your selection stay on foot.
- Everyone: give the whole lobby flight so both sides can learn the controls together.
- T or CT: assign jetpacks to the current in-game side. The effect follows that side after teams swap, which suits rules tied to attacking or defending.
- Lobby team: choose a roster formed in the web lobby when a particular group of friends should keep the effect.
- Random players: set how many recipients the mod chooses each round.
- Selected players: pick individual friends when only some of the group want to fly.
For a flying-versus-grounded match, choose one side or lobby team and agree on the roles before starting.
Start a Private Jetpack Match with Friends
While Jetpack is enabled, the lobby’s Noclip setting is hidden and inactive. Before adding another mod, compare what it changes in the CS2 custom modes guide. The private CS2 match guide covers lobby access and server connections.
- Click Play Jetpack on the CS2 Jetpack page to begin setting up your session.

2. Complete the Steam sign-in if requested. Once your Personal Matches lobby opens, check the suggested server region with everyone joining. Switch locations if another region better suits friends playing from different countries.

- Select a map your group already knows, so the new flight angles are easier to recognize and Choose the match format.

- Enable Jetpack in the Mods tab.

- Apply your chosen flight settings.

- Share the lobby invitation link.

- Select Start match when everyone is ready.

- Use Connect to enter the server in CS2.

The invitation brings friends into the web lobby. Each player must also select Connect after the match starts to appear on the game server.
To connect manually, turn on Enable Developer Console (~) under Settings > Game if needed. Open the console and enter connect IP:PORT, replacing IP:PORT with your lobby’s server address and port.
